Mechanical Properties of Monel Alloys

Manufacturing Process of Monel Alloys
1. Melting and Alloying
Raw Materials: The primary raw materials include nickel, copper, and small amounts of other elements such as iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon.
2. Casting
Ingot Casting: The molten Monel alloy is poured into molds to form large ingots. These ingots are then allowed to cool and solidify.
Continuous Casting: Alternatively, continuous casting can be used, where the molten alloy is solidified into a continuous strand and then cut to desired lengths.
3. Primary Forming
Hot Rolling: The ingots or cast strands are heated to a high temperature and passed through rollers to reduce their thickness and form slabs, billets, or bars.
