Nitronic 50
Nitronic 50 Alloy
What is Nitronic 50?
Nitronic 50 is an austenitic stainless steel alloy infused with manganese, offering enhanced corrosion resistance compared to 316L and 317L thanks to its heightened chromium content. Additionally, it boasts approximately double the yield strength of these alloys at room temperature.
Remarkably, Nitronic 50 maintains its non-magnetic properties even after cold forming, a rarity among austenitic alloys. Its mechanical properties remain robust across a broad temperature spectrum, spanning both elevated and sub-zero conditions.
For most applications, the annealed condition at 1066°C is recommended, delivering superior mechanical properties and exceptional corrosion resistance. Alternatively, a high-strength variant with a minimum yield strength of 585MPa is also available.
Nitronic 50 finds widespread utility across various industries, including petroleum, offshore, subsea, petrochemical, chemical, fertilizer, nuclear fuel recycling, pulp and paper, textile, food processing, and marine sectors.
